On the coast of Maine, a curious young girl falls under the spell of a terrifying local ghost story. By the time her parents realize what’s happening it might be too late to bring her back.
Iris is an imaginative young girl on vacation in Maine, spending a lot of time by herself when her parents begin fighting. In their strange rental house, Iris finds an old trunk that can’t be opened, and starts to see evidence of a terrifying ghost story all around her. But is it all in her head? Or is it in the box?—Doug Bost

Acadia Bost, who is presumably the director’s daughter, all appear in writer-director Doug Bost’s debut film. They portray a family that splits up while on vacation in picturesque, sunny Maine.
Due to a rage-filled outburst that resulted in his termination from his job—though his wife is unaware of this—husband Don is transitioning into the main caretaker of the family. Don and Iris must check into their rental home in Winter Harbor without Heather because she is in New York acting for TV.

The pale one says to the 10-year-old, “You know what they say about wedding clothes.” “You do not choose it. It chooses you.

This closed trunk is within the house. The rental home is connected to an antique store, where Iris discovers the post-World War II notebook of a disgruntled bride-to-be.

She also discovers an old bridal dress there that was being sold by the ghostly-white cashier (Tammy Faye Starlight).
Inside that old trunk, Iris is conversing with something or someone.
Along with the outfit, she is keeping twigs and sticks under the bed.

You know what they say about wedding dresses, the pale one tells the 10-year-old. “You don’t pick it. It picks you.”
The house has this locked trunk in it. The rental property is run through an antique shop, where Iris stumbles across a post-WWII journal of a frustrated bride-to-be.
And that’s where she also stumbles into an aged wedding dress, pitched by the the pale-as-death clerk (Tammy Faye Starlight).
Iris is talking to something or someone inside that old trunk.
She’s hiding that dress, and sticks and twigs under the bed.
She’s begging Daddy to play the “wedding”
Don’s “Little girls have been marrying their daddies for centuries” is no reassurance to her, or us.

game, something that drives Mom absolutely crazy (whom Iris calls by her first name). not for the reasons you may anticipate either. It’s a game where Dad plays the pastor and the groom, leaving Mom out.
